Northeast Florida Scottish Highland Games!

Yesterday we went to the Scottish Highland Games in Green Cove Springs - a great event for picture-taking! I found myself on a dirt field, almost being run over by 3 large sheep and a sheep dog; bagpipes could be heard all around... lovely girls in plaid skirts and knee-highs doing traditional Scottish danincing... Big, burly men in kilts tossing the caber or hurling a bag of hay over a very high pole - and on the way home, a rainbow filled the stormy sky!

lots of homless in the sunshine state... i don't blame 'em... i don't really like taking pictures like this, but when i saw him... it just moved me so much. i actually had 2 bucks in my hand to go grab a milkshake or somethin' at the Aviles Market, but gave it to him instead.

i wish the sky didn't look quite so dark in the pics... it takes away from how intense and almost scary the hude dark clouds were - and they seemed to have been tinged by a strange rosy-copper fringe, but that didn't seem to come out (in the pictures).... i like the palm tree in the center... looks like its being abducted by aliens...
